Now you have decided to take the next academic step and become a bachelors prepared nurse. How you view nursing and your role in nursing will change as you move forward through your educational journey. Writing is one important way that we communicate with others. It is important to work to improve our writing skills. In this first exercise you are asked to create a short essay that answers two questions: • Why did you become a nurse? • What does being a professional nurse mean to you? In 500 words or less, write an original essay in response to the two questions noted above. To present your strongest writing skills, please ensure your essay: • Concerns the essay topic specified in the assignment prompt. • Appears in paragraphs with an introduction, a body section that includes a paragraph to address each question, and a conclusion. It works for anything written in your browser. This assignment is introduced in Module 1 but is due on Sunday, Day 7 of Module 2 at 11:59 pm ET. You will be assessed using the Professional Nursing Writing Assignment Rubric. Assignment Instructions The body of your paper should be 500 words or less. Compose your work in a .doc or .docx file type using a word processor (such as Microsoft Word, etc.) and save it frequently to your computer. Check your work and correct any spelling or grammatical errors. When you are ready to submit your work, click “Upload Submission.” Enter the submission title and then click on “Select a file to upload.” Browse your computer and select your file. Click “Open” and verify the correct file name has appeared next to Submission File. Click on “Continue.” Confirm submission is correct and then click on “Accept Submission & Save.” Evaluation This assignment accounts for 25% of your final grade.
